You know the saying “save the best for last”? Well that could not ring more true with this session. Taking place on new years eve of 2017 I could not have wished for a better baby to photograph or clients to meet.

So many amazing things could be said about these guys, and their sweet girl. Instead of rambling I’ll let the images do the talking.

So nice meeting you Nico and Jenessa, your girl is seriously perfection, and so lucky to have you for parents<3

One of my 2018 business goals was to try and blog more. So lets get started with my first entry of 2018! Sweet Baby B!

I know I say this a lot but seriously this sweet girl is pretty much perfection!  She wasn’t overly into sleeping for her session, but we were able to get enough to fill a gallery with a great variety of awake and sleepy shots. Mom loves pink, and I think it compliments her milky soft skin tone perfectly.

I really did want to just snuggle this sweet girl the entire session. Its the hard part of this job… all work no snuggle. JK I always sneak in a snuggle or two …or three ha!

Is there really anything more adorable than a baby with a full head of hair? Its my absolute favourite.   Check out a few of my favourite shots from sweet A’s newborn session <3

Oh hey! Remember me!? Ya, I am the photographer that used to blog each session. Then I ended up getting behind  (only like… 7 or 8 sessions, no biggie *gulp*) and well.. I feel non existent in here! Disappointing because I love writing on my blog/website! I think its important for people that may not know me to get a better idea of who I am as a person, and not just a photographer.  If you don’t already,  follow me on instagram! @melissahopfnerphotography . Im pretty active on there, and I try and post behind the scenes stuff, and well.. me just being me. (insert oh oh face here)

Anyways, lets get to the good stuff. Sweet Scarlett <3  Sending this gallery off tonight, and honestly, I’m going to miss editing this adorable little face.

When newborns arrive I always like to see who they look like. Isn’t it funny how we always examine them and try and find who’s nose they have or if their hair colour came from mom or dad etc. I find in a lot of cases its not an easy task, but when it comes to this sweet girl, I feel like she looks exactly like her mamma! Im always so envious of moms who have children that look like them. I have three kids and none of them resemble me at all!

Meet, Brielle, the sweetest of the sweet <3

I had the pleasure of hanging with this sweet family and their newest little family member a couple weeks back. I had a blast during their family/maternity session so I was looking forward to seeing them all again.  This not so little guy had the funniest expressions, Im so glad I was able to catch a couple on camera.  <3

I know its been like crickets around here. Its just been too much to blog and get galleries out in a timely manner. NOT complaining, just keeping it real, and letting you all know whats going on over here! 🙂  Ill probably end up posting old sessions on here during the slower months because I have missed a lot of great sessions that I am dying to share.

I  have photographed this family before so when Tara-lynn asked me to photograph their newest family member I was excited! Its always nice to see repeat clients. I love seeing clients families grow.  This little guy came in the studio a couple weeks back and I couldn’t get over how perfect his sweet little face is. Adorable just like big sister!

Great seeing you guys again! Enjoy your teaser shots 🙂

Meet Sweet Benjamin! I just love that name. He was a delight to photograph and made my job fairly easy. He’s also one of the cutest little guys ever! I have had so many sessions outdoors lately, it was nice to get back into the studio and do what I love most, Newborn photography <3

Thanks so much for bringing him in, it was great getting to see you both again, and meet your sweet boy.

I know for a lot of parents booking or attending their newborn session can feel a bit stressful. You wonder if your little one will cooperate. What if he doesn’t? Will he/she be comfortable what if he/she cries the entire time, or doesn’t sleep.  All you want is those adorable shots of your little one. You would hate to fork out the cash and him/her not cooperate and you end up with nothing.

Well… I promise you. That will not happen!  With three kids of my own (including twins) Im very confident and experienced with handling and carrying for babies. I have shot hundred of newborn sessions and know what they do and don’t like/need. Of course moms always know best and some babies just do not enjoy being unswaddled and posed, and that is OK! After all.. these are HUMANS we are dealing with here! My number one focus when you are in the studio is that baby is safe and comfortable. That’s one of the reasons I crank the studio to 30 degrees! So when your little one is naked, he’s warm and cozy.

I have had a pretty long string of chill babies lately, so I was due for a challenge. This little guy likes one thing for sure… his mamma!  My youngest daughter was the exact same way (still is at 2.5 yrs)  so when Mamma mentioned she was worried we wouldn’t get much, I could relate with how she could feel that way.

I just wanted to touch on this subject for this blog to share with people that the concerns of ‘uncooperative’ babies does not mean you will end up with anything less then beautiful images.

This little lady is so adorable I could just stare at her sweet face all day! Her lips get all the heart eyes! Her parents and big sis were super sweet too. Its been crazy over here so I haven’t had a chance to get everyones session on the blog, but this little sweetie was way too cute to let slip by!

Sweet Joelle. Even her name is adorable. <3

I’ll apologize now for the over usage of exclamation marks. Im just excited about things ok! 😉
